An original program of songs and stories

What audiences are saying:

"Avery's narrative was spellbinding and ... gave me pause and excitement to consider my own heritage in a different way."

"I wanted to see it again as soon as it ended!"

"What a wonderful evening!  Avery's lyrical voice, her imaginative songs, her storytelling ... transported me to other times and places."

"[After the show] I went home and dug out an album my recently deceased mother had left us. I just wanted to touch something she had made and left for us. You truly brought to life the old saying that “a person is not truly dead until they are forgotten”..."

Dreams & Ghosts is a performance program that reflects on how our family histories can help us understand our own past and present experiences. I take great joy in guiding listeners through the stories of my ancestors’ choices and the tough decisions of my own past, punctuating them with songs that frame these stories in the bigger themes of life.

This program is appropriate for all ages in the following settings:

  • Performance theaters
  • Public libraries and storytelling venues
  • Historical and genealogical societies
  • Non-profit organizations working with families
  • Private house concerts
  • Middle / high school and college classes
  • Churches and other religious organizations
