Description
We lost not only a musical icon and artist this year, but an incredible human being. January is Dolly Parton’s birthday month, so let’s use this opportunity to celebrate her life story, her music and her legacy.
What will I learn?
This workshop will cover songs from across Dolly’s prolific career, from her early days as the “girl singer” on the Porter Waggoner Show to her later collaborations with artists like Kenny Rogers, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris. By the end, you’ll not only have a deeper appreciation for her as a person, you’ll have several new tunes to include in your own repertoire for practice.
I recommend this workshop for players who are comfortable with:
- playing 4-chord songs in the keys of C, D, G, and/or A
- strumming a basic 4-count strum pattern: please watch this video tutorial
- taking risks to learn new techniques and material
